Lisa McGrath is President of lisa mcgrath llc, a new media law firm that focuses on solving legal problems related to social media, the Internet, marketing, advertising, E-commerce, mobile apps, privacy, and technology. Throughout her practice, she has counseled clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies and advertising agencies to hospitals and state and local governments. She also speaks frequently on social media law as it relates to the financial, healthcare, government, advertising, and other private and public sectors.

She began her career in Washington, D.C., serving as a Law Clerk for the United States Senate Judiciary Committee and later as a Counsel in the United States Senate. She returned to her home state of Idaho to clerk for former Chief Justice of the Idaho Supreme Court Daniel Eismann and later served as a commercial litigator in private practice. She is an Attorney Member of Harvard’s Berkman Center Online Media Legal Network, former section Chair at the Idaho State Bar, and former section Co-Chair at the American Bar Association. She is also theĀ founder and former program director of the Social Media Club Boise and organizer of two Idaho Startup Weekends.

She received her J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, and her B.A. in political science cum laude from the Honors College at Boise State University.
